Scientific objectives
In this context, the project “Adaptation to environmental changes: a multi-scale and trans dis ciplinary approach” proposed by ICSEN focuses on the study of adaptation processes of living organisms, natural environments and human activities to environmental changes. The ACE-ICSEN project will proactively connect and integrate scientific, economic and social issues associated with the research being conducted. It focuses on three main environmental themes:
- Biodiversity loss at local and regional scale
- Health impact of air and water pollution
- Impact of short lived pollutants on climate change scenarios
In parallel to disciplinary studies within each theme, the project will develop in a proactive way transdisciplinary approaches in order to (1) address common issues between the various themes and (2) evaluate the socio-economic impact and related environmental concerns as expressed by various stakeholders.
